Decided to go to Tokyu Hands, bought some pens and stationery. Went through all 10 floors. What an amazing place. It is worth a trip to Japan just to go and visit.
Walked both ways to the store, only a couple of kilometre but felt like a hundred with the heat and humidity.
Had a rest then went out again to look through some Department stores, Bic camera, Yodobashi Camera etc. Owing to the heat and all the walking I decided to get a cab back from Shinjuku. Showed cab driver picture of hotel with Godzilla leaning over the top. Cannot say it’s not unique.
In the end he took me to to some place kilometres in the wrong direction, indicated I walk up a street as “back entrance”. Off I go, he pisses off. Not back entrance, another theatre entirely. Couldn’t find any cabs or public transport so I decided, in consultation with Google Maps, to walk. Walked for bloody kilometres in very high temps. Discovered Google Maps are absolutely useless for walking, in fact I think they are dangerous. At one stage it had me going in big circles.
